Sep 1, 2017Campittello, 56, of Windsor and formerly Wethersfield, beloved son of Gloria (Harrington) Campittello of Wethersfield and the late Edward D. Campittello, left this beautiful earth on Monday, July 17, 2017 to join his father in Heaven. Mark was born in Hartford on June 19, 1961 and grew up in Wethersfield, graduating in 1980 from Wethersfield High. He was a faithful communicant of Corpus Christi and the Church of the Incarnation for many years. He attended many GHO and TPC tournaments in Wethersfield and Cromwell and enjoyed Par 3 golf and miniature golf. He was a sports enthusiast and avid fan of the New York Yankees at the new and old Yankee Stadiums, the Los Angeles Rams and the Hartford Whalers, as well as a big fan of professional basketball. He loved his home in Wethersfield and helping his mom around the house. Mark enjoyed taking long walks and the many vacations at Cape Cod with his family. He really loved the beach, especially Hammonasset in CT, the waves at Misquamicut in RI and looked forward to family reunions at Lake Sunapee, NH. He loved his cats, as the family had many through the years. Mark will be forever loved and missed by his devoted mother Gloria; his aunt, Anna Friedman; godmother, Betty Cronin; a special cousin, Jimmy Best, as well as many other cousins. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by grandparents, Edward C. and Stasia Campittello and Robert and Stella Harrington and two uncles, Edward Friedman and Robert Harrington, Jr., who Mark and his mom rode cross country from Wethersfield to Diamond Bar, CA with when Mark was 13. They stopped at the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Las Vegas, where they saw The Carpenters perform. In California, they visited Disneyland, Sea World, the Botanical Gardens, Dodger Stadium and many other places before flying home for the first time-a great experience! The family would like to express special, heartfelt thanks to the staff at Windsor Rehab for their dedicated care of Mark, as well as the Pallia... (Patch.com)
